Week #2 Lighting Blog
I took this picture on a walk around my neighborhood the other night and it struck me as a perfect source for this lighting blog. Although not in the frame, the main light source is coming from the moon of course, with many lights such as street lights, among others, helping to fill in. The chain link fence reminded me of a sort of gobo effect that can be used on stage. As for the lights themselves, you can see the difference in not only color, but intensity as well. For example, while the street light can be seen as more of a fresnel type of brushstroke, the light on the top left of the picture greatly seems like a par can with its power. As for the feeling this picture gives me, an intense blue would probably set the mood for me, play around with the intensity of the burshstroke itself to give it a real night time feeling, along with some ambers for the rest of the lights themselves.

Lots of sources in this image! Love the different quality of street/industrial light fixtures...and the different colors...you can tell what the purpose or function of each of these lights is supposed to be by the intensity as well...the bright safety/visibility lights, the flashy signs, the parking lot/street light from a higher angle lighting the ground specifically...and of course the silhouette of the chain link is a nice touch. Great!
