It's been a rough couple weeks for me, so I've spent a lot of time alone to explore and get out of my comfort zone. I use to go to the library at school and always sat at the exact same desk on the Palmer Wing, second floor, when I realized that,I wasn't getting much work done. I found that it was getting harder and harder for me to concentrate when I was at school, so I decided to explore out side of my environment and go to a different library. I looked one up, set it on my GPS, and headed out. As soon as I walked into the library, I fell in love with it. It was much more open, with multiple windows to look out of, and it wasn't crowded like the library at school. I decided to sit on a desk near the window so I can see outside. I find that if I have some sort of scenery to look at I get more motivated to finish my work. When I had arrived that day, it was really cloudy, but after about two or three hours being there I noticed the sun started coming out. I looked over my shoulder and saw the sunlight peeking through the tree's outside illuminating the desk near me. The tree's became a much more vibrant green, and I could see everything with such clarity. It motivated me to try to finish as much as I possibly could before I had to head to class. I think the beauty of the sunlight really captures the stillness that is inside of the library. Everyone gets so wrapped up in their work that we forget that there is a whole world outside still moving and sometimes we just need to take a moment to look outside, and enjoy the world around us. I think this would be a fun photo to recreate with the use of gobos to create that speckling effect across the desk as well as leko with shutters to show the intensity of the light. I would also make sure to use lights coming from the left to show where the source of light is coming from.
aww I love libraries! Looks like a lovely view with nice natural warm sunlight for inspiration :) Nice commentary!
