Lavender Sky
One of the first things I ever noticed about LA, when I visited before I even moved down here, were the purple trees everywhere. I fell in love with them! Something you don't see all the time here, though, are overcast skies, so of course when I stepped outside and saw this I absolutely HAD to take a picture (which Karen, over on the bottom left, noticed and asked if I was taking for this class :p ). The clear white light and almost lavender-grey sky set as the backdrop to this purple tree was stunning -- even this picture doesn't capture it's brilliance. To me, it felt very comforting and sweet. To recreate it I would probably use the Parcan as the source and I would use very cool toned lights in pale blues and lavenders with maybe a faint pink here and there to add a bit depth and a comfy warmth.

It is beautiful! and I love the fact that the gray sky does indeed feel like it has a lavender undertone, which puts an entirely different spin on a gray day feeling! Nice!
