Week 5 - Azusa Metro Station

I took this picture upstairs at a Target near the Azusa Metro link station. It is hard to tell because of the glare, but there are two rows of street lamps paving a path for the cars to move through. It feels as though people are moving away from a place of luxury to an area of desolation. The glare of the lights mixed with the small shadow of the shopping cart gives this picture two personalities. It's as if the people in the cars were being drawn to the glare, only to be misled into a darker and less happy place. Because of the arrow, there is no turning back.

  1. What a neat photo! It's weird what cameras can capture with light sometimes! It almost feels like an actual painting of light! Love the directionality and that tight, concentrated blur of streetlights and car headlights. Like ants marching towards nothing. Nice commentary!
